Crossing Yellow & Green Lines [[Drake]] « Thread Started on Nov 6, 2009, 8:34pm »
She hardly slept anymore with the children being born and her mind went from leap to leap in the whack shack rating of insanity. Audrey had considered killing herself just for laughs. It would be amusing to see just how, and that is, who would react should she just... disappear.. A lot had happened over the last few weeks and she seemed to be in the middle of it all. It would be crazy to think Drake even wanted to talk to her again after what she had done to him, or hadn't done, when it came to Brody.
Audrey's current walk had landed her in the bathroom. For it to be a room inside the school it certainly was freezing, and she found herself shivering slightly. Her short silk dress, complete with the normal lace up corset and heels was doing nothing to help. She toyed at the black fabric as it seemed to be growing cold as the room's chill took effect. One thing she certainly did miss when she was pregnant was her clothes, however inappropriate they seemed on her now that she was a mother.
Audrey walked over to the mirrors above the row of sinks, to check her appearance. She sighed as she let down her long blonde locks, charmed to have black streaks in them today. She was left to herself when it came to the manor, and after talking to Lloyd things were a little awkward. Not with them, but with everyone that had been left behind. Everyone, being Drake.. Glancing back at her reflection she saw someone approaching her. She hadn't brought her wand, hadn't thought she would need it. Perhaps this wouldn't be anyone to fuss over, a lost Hufflepuff or something else rather harmless?

As in, me Drake? -grin- Also, I know your muse has legged it, but I wanted to reply-pokes tongue out-
__
Walking along the sixth floor, pounding the familiar floor with worn shoes seemed to be a daily event for him nowadays, as Drake Sharpheath gradually got his life back to the way it was. His studies were improving with concentration, though he couldn't cast that particular aguamenti charm, couldn't even see it on the page without averting his eyes and scratching the back of his neck - a distinct sign he was feeling awkward.
As he glanced around him, he saw no-one; this corridor was usually deserted this time of day, and he liked it that way. His mind was racing ahead as it did on the times he allowed himself to dwell on issues he needed to sort out, and today for some reason they were mainly focussed on Audrey Averill. No pause for Brody, nor Lloyd, nor Jonathan. Not even his brother strayed into his daydreaming today, as he pondered on the blonde haired girl, with finely perfected features and rimmed eyes with a glint of mischief in them. He frowned as he stared defiantly at the floor, and clenched his wand slightly, unwilling to admit to the rush of emotion he felt inside him, the distinct buzz of happiness at the smile he remembered her with, and the slight tingling of anticipation at the familiar glint in her eyes.
At the noise behind him, Drake froze and turned. Someone was around the corner, and by the sounds of it, was approaching. He clenched his wand and edged closer to the corner, waiting for a second before peering around, and feeling his heart drop with a familiar rush of longing. Audrey was walking slowly down the corridor, her hand just pushing open the door to the girl's toilets as her eyes glazed over, apparently lost in distant thought.
After she'd disappeared, Drake pondered momentarily on his options; should he leave, get away from the oh-so-similar situation he'd found himself in? It would save a lot of imminent pain and nostalgia upon his behalf, he imagined. But then again - he wanted to talk to Audrey. Wanted them to be friends again. He knew Brody had that cunning way of charming some and betraying others, and she was just one of those who Brody favoured. Making his mind up, Drake hesitantly pushed open the door to the girl's toilets, slowly stepping inside and allowing the door to close behind him.
She looked tired; worn out and defenseless. He frowned slightly as he noted she had no wand. He could have been anyone. But then again, he knew from personal experience that Audrey needed no wand to pose a threat. His eyes rested briefly upon her lips, which he knew to be concealing fangs as her eyes fell upon him, and he stepped forward, wand clenched tightly inside his hand. He hadn't thought about this part - what if she hated him? Raising his wand slightly, he stood awkwardly before her, averting his eyes, and allowing his wand to point at the wall beside her as emotions pulsed through him. Eventually, after a tantalising pause, he managed to speak.

Of all the things her mind had perceived to be or possibly be behind her, the last she expected was Drake Sharpheath.. "Drake.." She said, quietly excited and both ashamed to see him. Not standing true to her own words in front of Brody wasn't something she was sure she was proud of or not. Pride was an odd commodity, and when it came to her friendship with Brody, she was sure she had made the right choice. Then again it was left to be desired when it came to Drake. She had been his, probably still would be, if Brody hadn't stepped between the two. Her thought drifted momentarily to Lloyd, though not lingering as she returned to observing Drake through the mirror. "I was just thinking about you.."
Audrey turned to face him, noting his wand with delayed expectation. "Hello indeed.. Going to hex me, Love?" She motioned to the wand in his hand with disdain. If he did it might not have been short of anything she deserved. She still wasn't sure on the matter. Audrey moved forward slowly, gingerly letting her heels click against the stone floor, coming to a stop mere inches from him. She placed her hand on his, urging him to lower his wand. She most certainly wasn't going to talk until he did.

The mention of his name from that voice made him want to grin childishly, and curl up all at the same time. Instead, he stared blankly at her for a second, whilst nostalgia threatened to overcome him, before averting his eyes. At the next few words, his heart pounded faster, and he looked up again, tongue on the verge of an excited 'Really??' but brain stopping him just in the nick of time. He wasn't angry with her; not in the slightest any longer. But he didn't want to anger her with his incessant enthusiasm, or immaturity as dear Lloyd had put it in the dungeons.
'You were?' he stated, almost boredly instead, voice threatening to break as he made eye contact with her, his own lifeless and void of emotion; just like someone he knew before him. When she turned fully, and gestured to his wand, he felt a pang of shame, not for the first time. He hesitated, wondering where to point it instead, shaking his head as he did so, and feeling his eyes momentarily sting with tears. 'No, I -' he broke off, knowing if he went any further, it would sound like a confession, rather than a comfort. She moved towards him, and he stiffened slightly; after all, he had momentarily threatened her friendship with Brody. She had reason to want to harm him. He didn't make any move to adjust his wand to face her, but rather stayed stiff and waited for whatever she planned to do.
When her hand was on his, he jumped slightly, and let her guide his wand down to his side. His eyes followed it, before he dropped it to the floor with a clatter, now pretty certain she didn't have hers, nor any intent to harm him, and feeling it was unfair and certainly lacked chivalry to keep his own. 'I'm sorry, I -' he broke off again, looking up at her, extemely conscious of the contact between them. 'H-how are you?' he finally managed, cheeks flushing slightly as his wand rolled to a halt near the door.
