What A Day (Arianna) « Thread Started on Nov 3, 2009, 10:50am »
The wind whistled quietly acorss the grounds as Dasha made her way to the Quidditch Pitch. She kept her head bowed, strands of her blonde hair being tugged by the wind. Her arms were secured closely to her body, wrapping around it, while her messenger bag bumped against her hip with every step she took. The air was crisp and cold, but while Dasha usually stayed inside during this season, she was too distracted to be cooped up for much longer. That, and today was simply not her day. She had overslept, spilled milk down herself that morning, spilled ink on her jeans, and then someone had nicked her favourite quill and some of her parchment. Oh, she could just scream at this point.
Dasha made her way into the Quidditch Pitch and shuffled through the stands until she settled herself on one of the middle bleachers on her house's side of the stadium. Her messenger bag slipped from her shoulder and onto the wooden platform beneath her with a thud. Dasha kept her arms wrapped around herself, almost glaring out at the field. She hadn't even had time to play any Quidditch this year with all of her studies and homework. She missed it. Alot.
A small sigh escaped from her lips as Dasha reached into her bag and pulled out one of her books. She opened it upon her lap and began to read, knowing that she had a test in just a few days.

It was a cold day, but at least there was no rain or snow. Ariana had slept late and just felt like going outdoors for once. So she got out of bed and admired her morning hair in the mirror as she pulled her plait down and her dark locks fell about her shoulders. She really knew how to keep herself looking fine. She moved away from the image after a minute or two and changed for the day. She stepped back over to the mirror and smiled brightly at the picture perfect girl in a black skirt, white blouse, and tall black boots.
Ariana found herself to be presentable for a walk around the grounds and grabbed her winter coat on her way out the door. Maybe today the quidditch pitch would be adandoned due to the cold weather, so she decided to take a stroll down there. She had her schoolbag with her, just incase she decided work should get done.
Though Ariana found her conclusion about the quidditch pitch to have been incorrect. There was another girl sitting in the stands, in the Gryffindor section. Ariana stared for a moment before climbing the stairs to her own section and plopping down into a seat and pulling out a book she'd been reading on the side. It was a typical muggle vampire book, but none-the-less quite entertaining.

A shiver ran its way over Dasha's tiny body. The wind whipped at her hair and just as she was about scribble something down on her current essay, her parchment slipped right from under her hand and into the air.
"Hey!" she cried, instantly getting to her feet. Dasha stepped up onto the bench itself and began to jog down it after the parchment. The wind carried it a few benches down and Dasha simply leapt from one to the other, though she wasn't exactly the most graceful. Just as her fingertips brushed the edge of the parchment, her foot slipped on the edge of the bench and Dasha came crashing down the the floorboard.
"Oof!" she muttered, landing on her arm. The parchment slowly drifted down to land upon the floorboard just a few inches away from her. Dasha's eyes narrowed into a fierce glare. "Why?!"

Plenty of commotions had begun to happen in the Gryffindor stands when the other girl seemed to have lost control of a sheet of parchment paper. Ariana lifted her eyes to the top of the book that had engrossed her so well and watched the Gryffindor girl attentively as she made her way quickly after her loose parchment. Ari had lost interest and her eyes flickered back upon her previous sentence. Then there was a loud clunk as elbow met floorboard and Ariana jumped to her feet with a start.
At first she just stared at the girl with amusement but, when she hadn't gotten up right away, Ariana placed her book back within her schoolbag and pulled the bag over her shoulders as she made her way over to the fallen Gryffindor. She knelt down beside the girl and smiled, "Everything alright? No broken bones I presume," the last part was more of a statement than a question. Ari definitely knew the scream after breaking an arm, since she had bandaged up her sister after she had once done so.
Ariana looked further down to her own knees upon the floorboards and laughed thoughtfully. The girl had not caught her parchment, but Ari had done so when sitting beside the girl. She pulled the sheet from under her knee and stood up, holding out her other hand to the Gryffindor in need. "I'm Ari, Ravenclaw. And you're name would be?"

As a shadow loomed above her, momentarily shielding her from the wind, Dasha looked up into the face of another girl. She sat up, feeling heat rise to her cheeks to form a slight blush against her pale skin. Dasha then furrowed her thin eyebrows, looking down to her now-swelling arm. Her gaze flicked back to the girl and she shook her head.
"No, no broken bones. Just a bruise comin' on," she replied, allowing a small smile to tug at the corners of her soft lips. Out of habit, Dasha momentarily chewed on the silver hoop that stuck out from the right corner of her lower lip, and then laughed softly at the girl. Indeed, her essay was sitting right below her knee. Dasha's gaze followed the girl as she stood.
"Dasha. Gryffindor," she replied, grasping Arianna's hand with her own worn one. She then smiled a bit again. "Thanks."

"Gryffindor," Ariana repeated in a thoughtful tone. It seemed this girl Dasha was a housemate of her brother's. Ari smiled politely as Dasha thanked her for the help. "So you know my brother Mariano? I hope he hasn't tried to pull any pranks on you." She released Dasha's hand and began a slow walk, making sure she would keep up, towards Dasha's previously occupied seat in the stands. She took a seat by the Gryffindor's bag and looked upon the Quidditch pitch for the first time from this point of view. It was somewhat different, but definitely not the same as the Ravenclaw area.
Ariana's eyes refocused on her new companion and she titled her head as she took in Dasha's features. Her blonde hair shined perfectly, even with the lack of sunlight. And Ari loved the lip ring; she personally never had the courage to get one. Just the thought of a needle going through her precious mouth was just too unbearable. So she had her nose pierced instead and she loved it all the same. It did seem quite amazing when she thought it over. How did she have enough courage to have a needle poking through her skin over and over for her precious tattoo, but she couldn't stick one needle through her lip for less than a minute. Yes, Ariana had gone to get a raven tattooed on her left hip when her sister was old enough to take her.
She realized she'd been sitting in thought for a minute or so and laughed. It must be awkward for someone to watch her randomly stare into space in the middle of a conversation. "I'm sorry. I love your lip ring. It is quite intriguing." Ari pulled at the hoop hanging from her right nostril and smiled. "This is my prized piercing." She did have six other piercings in her ears, but she personally adored her now ring since it took the more courage, which did not come easy to her often.

Dasha followed Arianna, listening to her ask her questions. When she asked about Mariano, a small smile flitted to her lips.
"Ah, yes. I've hear him. And seen some of the pranks he likes to pull. But I don't know him personally," Dasha replied, sitting next to Arianna and crossing her legs. Her foot instantly began to bounce. The moment of silence extended a bit, but wasn't long enough to be uncomfortable. Dasha liked quietness than noisiness; it didn't make her feel the least bit awkward like it did most people. When Arianna spoke again, Dasha gave another smile which lit up her blue eyes instantly.
"Hah, thanks," she replied. "It hurt, but it heals quick." This time, a grin spread across her face when Arianna showed Dasha her nose ring.
"Nice! You got any others?" she asked. Dasha had to admit, she was a fan of piercings. She loved them, but to an extent. She wasn't going to become a metalhead, but sometimes she liked to try something new. She definitly loved Ari's nose ring - it gave her something that added to her prettiness.
"You'd look cute with a little diamond, too. Like, for occassions, I mean. Sorry, I, er, yeah," Dasha stammered. It just kind of slipped out and she didn't want to give Ari the wrong impression. But sometimes, Dasha was just like that. She said what she was thinking. Actually, she did that alot.

Ariana smiled at Dasha's enthusiasm towards piercings. "Yes, most piercings do seem to heal pretty fast, as long as they are taken care of properly. And I only have six more piercings," shae ran her hair behind her righ ear. Two earings dangled down from her earlobe and one diamond sparkled in her cartlidge. Then she showed her left ear to Dasha, where there were identical earlings, but the diamond shined from her tragus. She smiled as she recovered her ears with her thick brown hair. "I wish I had the nerves to have my lip pierced though. It's a cute piercing."
Ari stopped speaking to think for a moment. "So what else is intriguing in your eyes Dasha? Most Gryffindors seem to be headstrong and brave at heart. My brother definitely seems to fit that category in my own eyes. He must be the only one from out litter though." Ariana always seemed to make it sound like a dog gave birth to her and her two siblings, but it really did seem outragous. Triplets! She would never ever want to deal with that labor.
[sorry it's so short, and late. I've been so busy]

[nah, its okay]
Dasha smiled as Arianna revealed the peircings in her ears, but then flicked her gaze back up the sky at her next question, thinking.
"Music," she replied. Dasha had been playing piano since she was a child, and learned to play guitar as well. But piano... it was her favourite. It was something she could totally lose herself in and forget about everyone and everything in a room full of people and commotion. She could play for hours and hours if she wanted to.
Dasha returned her stare to Arianna. "What about you?"

Music was always interesting, but it wasn't top on Ariana's list of favourites. "What may I ask is so interesting about music for you?" She just had to ask, it seemed helpful for keeping the conversation flowing after all. But what was Ariana interested in? She smiled. There was only one thing that always intrigued her more than anything else.
"Potions," Ariana answered smoothly. "I love to mix up different ingredients; create my own concoctions. I would love to be a nurse someday." She smiled at her new-found friend, but leaned back calmly. She never gave away too much information too quickly. Why should she tell this girl her dreams and longings? She didn't know her that well in the least.

Again, Dasha's gaze flicked to the sky. Her thin brows furrowed and she chewed on her lip ring once more. Thought etched its way across her face for a few moments before she shrugged a reply to Arianna's question.
"I dunno, really," she said, then tilted her head just the slightest as Arianna answered Dasha's own question. A smile played at her lips.
"That would be good," she responded to Arianna's wishings of becoming a nurse. "I'm not that great at potions. I struggle a bit, but I make sure my grades are up." Dasha had to look up ingredients in her book all the time to see what ones were for which potions and what potions did what, ect. Yet, she studied hard and kept her head in the game, as always.
